Business tax

The business return and the owner’s return, kept in step.

Business returns prepared correctly and structured around how you actually earn and pay yourself.

Who it’s for

For owners whose business and personal taxes are one picture.

For consulting practices, agencies, online businesses and other small companies, the business return and the owner’s personal return are closely linked. We prepare them with that connection in mind.

  • Owners considering a new entity or a change in tax classification

S-Corporation Tax Return

From$900Starting fee

Form 1120-S with the shareholder K-1 and one state return.

  • Form 1120-S with the shareholder K-1
  • One state return
  • One shareholder, one state, clean books
  • No basis reconstruction or unusual elections

Additional shareholders or states, local or city returns (such as New York City), pass-through entity tax elections, basis or AAA reconstruction, and payroll filings are quoted separately. Return preparation doesn’t include an election analysis or year-round planning; those are separate services.

Partnership (Form 1065) returns are quoted after an Intro Call.

Clean books first

An accurate return starts with reconciled books.

We work from clean, reconciled books. If yours need attention before a return can be filed, we can clean them up as a separately scoped engagement, or keep them current with monthly bookkeeping.

Do you prepare partnership returns?

Yes. Partnership (Form 1065) returns are quoted after an Intro Call based on the number of partners, states and the condition of the books.

Do my books need to be clean first?

The standard business return scope assumes clean, reconciled books. If yours need attention, we can clean them up as a separately scoped engagement, or keep them current with monthly bookkeeping.

Will an S-Corp save me money?

It depends on your profit, your state and how you operate. An election can reduce self-employment tax for a profitable business, but it adds payroll, a separate business return and ongoing compliance costs.

The S-Corp Election Analysis ($500) puts both sides in writing. If the numbers don’t support an election yet, we’ll say so, and tell you what would need to change.

What happens on an Intro Call?

The Intro Call is a free conversation to understand your situation and recommend the right service and fee. It isn’t tax advice or a tax consultation, and no client relationship begins until you sign an engagement letter. If you’d like professional advice right away, a Tax Strategy Session ($300) is the place for it.

Start with a conversation

Tell us where you are. We’ll show you the way forward.

A free Intro Call is a conversation about your situation and the right service for it. Scope and fee are confirmed in writing before any work begins.
